Salt factory

This is the salt-processing factory. Apparently, it is prohibited to take pictures of the facility (I didn’t know that, but a friend of mine got fined for taking a snapshot!), as it also produces some chemicals used in weaponry… For the most part, the Dead Sea is known to the world as an amazing source of health-boosting products and cosmetics, but it may not remain around for too long. Salt extraction and dams built up-stream of the only river that carries waters into it lead to it becoming shallower and smaller each year…
